Christmas Show at Polar Ice

On December 19 and December 22, 2001 my home ice rink "Polar Ice" in Peoria was doing a Christmas Show for all the Students in the Group Lessons. I wanted to do a solo so Jana and I went to work and created a program for me. I skated to "Oh Holy Night" sung by the country singer Colin Raye.
Many of my friends and co-workers came and cheered me on (since I promoted my solo like a pro – could not keep my big mouth shut) and I was very nervous on the 19th because I really did not want to make a fool out of myself. So 30 minutes before I had to get on the ice I kept asking myself why on earth I am putting myself through this and I was sure that I did NOT want to go out there and skate. But again, just like in Las Vegas, once I was out on the ice most all of my nervousness left and I was able to skate a beautiful program. Thank you Debbie, Terry, CJ, Sheila, and Rodney for cheering me on!!!

Getting ready to skate my solo

Myself and Jana right before my program

The screen caps below are taken from both days Wednesday and Saturday. I actually skated much better on Saturday and was not really nervous at all. I was actually really excited to skate my program.

So now I am poised to get ready for the next event which will be a competition in Tucson at the beginning of March!!
