On December 19 and December 22, 2001 my home ice rink "Polar Ice" in Peoria was doing a Christmas Show for all the Students in the
Group Lessons. I wanted to do a solo so Jana and I went to work and created a program for me. I skated to "Oh Holy Night" sung by the
country singer Colin Raye. Many of my friends and co-workers came and cheered me on (since I promoted my solo like a pro – could not keep my big mouth shut)
and I was very nervous on the 19th because I really did not want to make a fool out of myself. So 30 minutes before I had to get on the
ice I kept asking myself why on earth I am putting myself through this and I was sure that I did NOT want to go out there and skate. But
again, just like in Las Vegas, once I was out on the ice most all of my nervousness left and I was able to skate a beautiful program. Thank
you Debbie, Terry, CJ, Sheila, and Rodney for cheering me on!!!
